My name is Alexander Cornwell, a.k.a. Acornwellian. I am an animator based in the greater Boston area in Massachusetts. Across all of the art that I’ve made, one theme holds true: I simply want to make the world a brighter place. I try to keep joy at the center of everything. This is also why I’m so partial to visual storytelling, primarily through mediums like animation and puppets (physical or digital). They are intrinsically non-elitist and easy to grasp, but still harbor depth for those willing to seek it out. Anyone can get something out of a cartoon; whether it’s a quick laugh or a life changing revelation. I think cartoonish art-styles and bright colors are more conducive to these revelations than most people give them credit for. I love using animation to show the beauty of the world in all sorts of places, both predictable and unexpected. I love drawing traditional pastoral landscapes just as much as romantic dead end suburban towns, and the stories of the characters that live within them. No matter what, I want everything I make to refresh and brighten the lives of those who come across it.
